NFTY is the Northern Federation of Temple Youth, and NFTY-NAR is the New York Area Region of NFTY. NFTY's goals are to instill Jewish identity, increase synagogue participation among high school youth, foster long-term commitment to the ideals and values of reform judaism, and creat today the Reform Jewish Congregants of tomorrow. NFTY does this by holding many events to meet these goals.

NFTY-NAR brings together Reform Jewish Teens from New York City, the Westchester/Fairfield area, Long Island, and tropical Puerto Rico. Our members come together at many times during the year for learning, fun, worship, community service, and fellowship to help young Jewish adults throughout the region build and strengthen lifetime ties with each other and Reform Judaism.

NFTY's heart and soul is the local Union for Reform Judaism affiliated synagogue Temple Youth Group (TYG). While each local TYG differs in organization, focus, size, and character, the Temple Youth Group is the outlet for the highly engaged Reform Jewish teenage in a Union Synagogue. While some TYG's only meet 5 times a year for social programs, other TYG's meet over 20 times each school year and offer a full variety of social, leadership, educational, and social action programs.
